Moulded from timbers that are selected from oak boards for a textured look and feel, the Enhanced Grain collection's contemporary design accurately recreates the subtle nuances of natural wood. Each of the shades are slip-resistant and showcase their organic patinas beautifully
Situated within the picturesque Californian mountains and desert just minutes from Joshua Tree, AWE Ranch is an innovative 7,500 sq ft property spanning 358 acres. Designed as a hub for artists, creators, and visionaries, the property is not just an estate but a movement towards sustainable and inspirational living. The primary goal of the project was to create an off-the-grid destination that fused community, creativity, and nature, echoing our 'Live.Life.Outside' ethos.
Millboard's comprehensive application throughout the estate highlights its functional adaptability and aesthetic versatility. In the kitchen, Shadow Line+ cladding was innovatively used as a backsplash and for crafting custom shelves to display glassware, showcasing the product’s unique application beyond traditional uses. Additionally, one of the showers was clad entirely in Millboard, capitalising on its rot-resistant properties in wet conditions. The insulation qualities of Millboard also proved invaluable, being installed on all interior walls to enhance the property's thermal efficiency.
The final installation exceeded expectations in terms of performance, durability, and aesthetics. Both the property owner and contractor were delighted with Millboard’s contribution to the project. The product seamlessly integrated into the estate’s design, reflecting the rugged beauty of the surrounding landscape while ensuring minimal maintenance.
This project not only highlights Millboard’s potential in challenging environments but also reinforces its role in sustainable construction practices, contributing to the ranch’s goal of creating a low-impact, high-inspiration living space. The use of Millboard encouraged a deeper connection with the natural world, allowing guests and residents to 'live life outside' in comfort and style.
