Millboard Products Used
The EO kitchen featured Millboard Enhanced Grain resin mineral composite decking in Brushed Basalt. This choice was not made in isolation but thoughtfully matched with the existing Millboard Enhanced Grain, Smoked Oak decking, which had a Brushed Basalt surround. Additionally, the homeowner's hot tub was clad in Millboard, ensuring a seamless and harmonious integration throughout the outdoor space.
Decision to Use Millboard
Millboard was selected for its superior quality, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Known for its ability to replicate the natural feel of wood, Millboard’s resistance to weather conditions, rot, and insects, make it an ideal material for an outdoor kitchen. Another reason that Millboard was chosen, was for its low maintenance requirements. Unlike traditional wood, Millboard does not need to be sealed, stained, or painted. It is also easy to clean, usually only requiring a quick sweep or wash down. This means the homeowner can spend more time enjoying their outdoor kitchen and less time worrying about upkeep. The client's prior use of Millboard decking reinforced this decision, as it provided a consistent look and feel across the project and simplified the process by using a trusted material.
Design Incorporation
Millboard was used as the fascia material for the kitchen furniture, ensuring a unified look that complemented the existing decking. The kitchen design included ample storage and worktop space within the pergola's dimensions, featuring two large drawers for accessories, one beneath the barbecue and another under The Big Green Egg. This innovative application not only enhanced the kitchen's visual appeal but also ensured robustness and longevity.
