The Envello Shadow Line+ cladding board has been moulded from real oak masters and designed to perfectly replicate smooth timber with a flat grained finish, giving a clean authentic look. The increased width of the Shadow Line+ board compared to standard timber boards means there is larger grain detail. This gives an enhanced visual impact, without risk of the board twisting or warping over time.
Tested to the rigorous demands of BS EN 13501-1, the Shadow Line+ system achieves a classification of Euroclass D.

In 2017, DLM Architects embarked on a visionary project in St Peter Port, Guernsey: The Glade. This energy-efficient and sustainable family home showcases the integration of modern living with the surrounding natural environment. With a site nestled amidst protected trees and dense vegetation, the project faced stringent planning regulations. Yet, after four years of negotiations, a solution was reached that not only met regulatory requirements but also embraced the site's ecological richness.
At the heart of The Glade's design ethos was a commitment to seamless integration with its surroundings. This ethos extended to the selection of materials, where Millboards Burnt Cedar Envello Shadow Line+ Cladding played a pivotal role. The choice of this resin mineral composite cladding material was driven by its ability to effortlessly blend the contemporary aesthetic of the dwelling with the rustic charm of its wooded setting.
The cladding, with its burnt cedar effect finish, provided The Glade with a striking yet understated elegance. Its shadow line profile added depth and texture to the façade, creating a visual interplay between light and shadow that mirrored the dappled sunlight filtering through the surrounding foliage. Moreover, the cladding's excellent durability qualities and low maintenance requirements aligned perfectly with the project's sustainability objectives, ensuring that The Glade would age gracefully while minimising its environmental footprint.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Burnt Cedar Envello Shadow Line+ Cladding has contributed to the dwelling's thermal performance, enhancing insulation and energy efficiency. This synergy between form and function typified the holistic approach adopted by DLM Architects in creating The Glade - a home that not only respects its environment but also enriches the lives of its inhabitants.
